Jessica Ray Cuevas, a proud native of Brownsville, Texas, currently holds the esteemed position of Chief Executive Officer at Moody Clinic. Her deep-rooted commitment to community service is a testament to her family's legacy, as she follows in their footsteps with unwavering dedication.
Jessica dedicated several years to her education and obtained a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Before that, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at The University of Texas at Austin. Her academic journey gave her the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in speech-language pathology.
After gaining valuable experience in her career, Jessica made the decision to return to her hometown of Brownsville in the summer of 2007. Upon her return, she secured a position at Mercy Kids Rehab Services, Inc., where she dedicated her skills and expertise to helping children. Following her time at Mercy Kids, Jessica transitioned to a role as a speech-language pathologist within the Brownsville Independent School District, where she continued to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students through her specialized knowledge and compassionate approach.
In 2017, Jessica assumed the position of executive director for Moody Clinic, where she has successfully led a dedicated staff of 12. During her tenure, Jessica, in collaboration with the staff and the board of directors, has spearheaded the implementing of three financial assistance programs to alleviate the financial burden for families seeking therapy for their children with special needs. Through her leadership, Jessica has expanded the Moody Clinic team, strategically handpicking highly qualified professionals dedicated to providing top-tier therapy services to meet the diverse needs of the Brownsville community.
Jessica has dedicated her time and expertise to the Gladys Porter Zoo, where she served on the Board of Directors. Additionally, she has been an active contributor to the Episcopal Day School, where she served on the board of directors and held the esteemed position of Board President.
Jessica firmly believes in the importance of giving back to the community and that this lesson should be ingrained at an early age. Throughout her upbringing, she had the opportunity to observe her family members actively engaging in various community boards and organizations, which allowed her to understand on a personal level the significance of community service.
