PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT

 Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Brownsville, TX | Full-Time


 **$6,000 - Sign-on bonus available**

Moody Clinic is a nonprofit pediatric outpatient clinic dedicated to providing exceptional rehabilitative services to children in the Rio Grande Valley. We’re a mission-driven team committed to helping every child reach their full potential through personalized therapy and compassionate care.


POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. Deliver comprehensive physical therapy services and related care to patients under the expert guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT/DPT). Cultivate positive and meaningful interactions with facilities and patients, ensuring that all practices align with the highest principles of physical therapy and Moody Clinic’s established guidelines.


Provide exceptional patient care that includes ongoing treatment tailored to individual care plans and thorough case management responsibilities. Uphold a standard of professional conduct that embodies Moody Clinic’s unwavering commitment to quality and service in every patient interaction, building strong rapport and trust with both patients and facilities. Diligently adhere to all state and federal regulations governing physical therapy practices to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate closely with a licensed physical therapist to effectively optimize patients' functional abilities and enhance their skills, ensuring a personalized approach to treatment.
  • Implement a comprehensive and dynamic physical therapy program that addresses the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Cultivate and refine clinical expertise along with professional and leadership skills through meaningful interactions with managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, as well as through dedicated self-study and various continuing education opportunities.
  • Uphold the highest standards by maintaining a valid state license and staying informed about current trends and challenges in the field of physical therapy and the broader healthcare landscape.
  • Gain a deep understanding of various payment models associated with billing and treatment guidelines, utilizing clinically appropriate methods of service delivery to ensure effective and timely patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with rigorous infection control procedures and adhere to environmental safety protocols within the facility to promote a safe and healthy environment for both patients and staff.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills through the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English at an advanced level, including engagement with instructions, correspondence, charts, memos, and reports to facilitate effective patient care and administrative functions.


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of traits, processes, and ethics in patient care.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and editing notes.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Standard office equipment, including personal computers and peripherals; multi-line phone system.


EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree for physical therapy assistant
  • All states require a license or certification
  • Must pass a state-administered exam or the National Physical Therapy Exam administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy


EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years of experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients preferred.


LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Physical Therapist Assistants must be licensed to provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist (PT/DPT) in the state of Texas. They must also be registered and in good standing with the Texas Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners (ECPTOTE) and possess an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license and insurance. CPR certification and other relevant certifications may be required.


WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Office environment, exposure to computer screens, frequent contact with the public. Continuous sitting. Some lifting and carrying. Assist in philanthropic efforts for the clinic and perform other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Thursday 8am—6pm
  • Fridays 8am—12pm
  • Holidays and Weekends off
  • No Night Shifts


PAY: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year.


WORK LOCATION: In person.
